This summer, Dogfish Head, the craft brewer, opened the Dogfish Inn in the historic beach town of Lewes, Del., roughly 10 miles from the brewery. Designed by Studio Tack of Brooklyn, the rugged-good-looks hotel offers 16 rooms with wide balconies, custom-designed Woolrich blankets (handy in the off season), Tivoli radios, barware dedicated to beer drinking and artwork that pays tribute to one of the few remaining floating lighthouses in the United States (it’s docked a few hundred feet from the building). Almost needless to say, dogs are welcome, but call if yours weighs more than 80 pounds. “We get about 1,000 people a week who visit our brewery,” said Sam Calagione, an owner. “But now we get to hang out with them for 24 hours or more, rather than just an hour. It’s a natural extension of the Dogfish community.”
